    Ok just watched episodes I II and III yesterday.
    In the first the trade fedaration are in league with the sith and get burned
    then in the second they state that the sith tricked them hence their plots of rebellion. Then in three when Vadar is about to kill the last sepratist leader he s says lord sidious promised them peace?

    Ehy would they join him again after he got them in trouble in the first episode:confused:

    AFAIK they weren't rebelling against the Sith in Episode II. It's pretty clear that in ep II the trade federation is still with the sith. They are in the conference room with Dooku talking about the Death Star.

    Ok this is how I read it (feel free to point out any mistakes on my part) ......

    Ep1 : Trade Fed are in League with Sideous/Sith. Pretty straightforward.

    Ep2 : TF are pissed with Sideous and cut ties with him. TF run to Dooku and offer to join his seperatist movement on the provision that he delivers the dead body of Amidala first. The TF don't know that Dooku is working for Sideous (even tho we do).

    Ep3 : TF (and the the other seperatist groups) have lost the clone wars and are on the run from the Jedi and the Republic. TF at this stage have had enough of this 20odd years of meddling with the republic (and getting there arses repeatedly kicked as a result) and just want this nightmare to end. The TF know that Sideous is in the process of taking control of the republic believe that if they can just hold out from their persuers until Sid finally takes charge that the 'dogs will finally be called off' so to speak. Sideous, using Grevious as his ambassador, has contacted the TF and has promised them peace/amnisty/whatever once he takes over ... and this is what the TF desire ... but of course this is just talk on his behalf.

    ===

    I agree with you tho. For a kids a film (or any kinda film!) it is bloody confusing! :)

    Yes indeed in ep2 they are planning to rebel against the republic not the sith. That's what the big battle and the end is about.

    However they are not still with the Sith at this point! The TF don't know that Dooku is a Sith Lord and is working for Sideous. I think some of the geonosians knew Dookus real story but their only interest was in building the DeathStar so they don't really care who he is or what side he's on.

    No worries. Again this is just my interpretation of what I saw so there may be more to it.
