I did ask on the other board and I emailed chorus but no answers. Does anyone on here know if a chorus digital box can be switched to output RGB and made to output widescreen as well. A friend of mine wants to spend over ?1300 plus on an LCD tv but only has chorus digital and rf aerial. The best pic is RGB and its a bit of waste to get an LCD that will not be performing as it should/could.

I dont have one myself but a mate does and I have tinkered around with it recently.

In the setup menus you can set it to output RGB and a 16:9 ratio. To me it looks like there is no difference between the RGB and PAL and it seems that widescreen depends on the channel. Some channels which do broadcast (BB1,BB2,Sky Sports) dont seem to show as widescreen but flicked on BBC3 the other night and it was in widescreen.

Someone else with one at home Im sure will be more help and clear it up.

Some tv's only allow rgb on av1, you should see a difference betwwen the two formats

thanks for replies, i can now tell him to go ahead. he has the small digital chorus box with only a scart output so hopefully it will put out rgb and widescreen.

as a point of note, ws is put out on pin 8 of scart so if u watch through an rf channel it will not switch automatically. Although RTE1 switches to14:9 on rf source.

    Not exactly Satellite....
Just because the satellite board gets more traffic is no reason to post up a cable thread to get attention.
