    Darren Aranofsky's[sp?] new film,

    been waiting for ages to see what this looks like...

    this is only aranofsky's third film, but (visually) it looks excellent..

    it's very hard to tell from the trailer if the film will lead up to expectations..

    anyways.. _--->http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/thefountain/

    Close! Darren Aronofsky (Pi, Requiem for a Dream)
    I watched that trailer after someone on another forum mentioned it, it looks somewhat interesting, I'd like to see Hugh Jackman in a decent movie other than the X-Mens.

    Just a little fact tidbit, originally this was supposed to be a mega budget film (apparently over 150 million) starring Brad Pitt, but he changed his mind at the last minute and made Troy instead. They had made a huge pyramid for the film and all, they had to sell it after the studio withdrew most of the funding after Pitt pulled out. Apparently this is only about 40 or 50 million in budget.

    Well IMDb's take on it is...

    IMDb wrote:
    In early 2002, writer/director Darren Aronofsky cast Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett in the central leads of Tom and Izzi with a budget of $75 million. During pre-production, Pitt and Aronofsky were having major creative differences, so Pitt left to film Troy (2004) instead and the film was shut down. In early 2004, with a smaller budget of $40 million, Aronofsky cast Hugh Jackman as Tom and Rachel Weisz replaced Blanchett as Izzi.[/quote]

    Seems he more than just decides to do Troy.

    Anyway, yes, very interested in this film. Hopefully it won't be a pour man's Lord Of The Rings (which I didn't like) and will have some style, grace and originality.

    Well that one certainly looks interesting but it seems to be more of a piss take than anything else

    New trailer on Apple.com

    i think it looks interesting... though i can't help but think it's just aronofsky with a big budget, rather then the quirky, interesting, weird and alienating film that i want from him
