XFCE - combine panel and taskbar?

In order to save screen real-estate, I moved the taskbar to the bottom.
Now, however, the taskbar and panel are on top of one another at the bottom of the screen. Is there some way of combining these two into one bar/panel, with launcher buttons and taskbar items?

The printscreen button in XFCE doesn't seem to do anything, so if this isn't clear, sorry.

Also, can I change the icons of the launcher?

Found it - I installed a package called xfce4-taskbar-plugin and killed the panel.

Not impressed with XFCE though, it's no quicker than GNOME and the right-click menu stopped working after about 20 minutes.

    Hi P,
the really quick one was the older XFCE 3.x

XFCE4 is a very complete desktop system,
and probably launched full gnome services
when you ran it. You can try turning things
off in the settings menu. It should seem faster.

    Good luck with it,
    NiallB

Big XFCE4 fan myself - no GNOME services, because I don't have them installed. Re screen real-estate, you can autohide both the panel and the taskbar, so they only display when you mouse over them. I don't have a printscreen button in mine, so I can only suggest that you check that it's running the command it's supposed to run. I use either import or scrot for screenshots. Disappearing right-click menu? Run xfdesktop -menu in a terminal and see what happens - if you get a menu, make sure xorg is handling your mouse correctly; if you get errors, they should point you in the right direction.
