Yea should defo look at Mount Pleasant as they have a very active Squash section with 3 courts. I play tennis there and it is a great spot.

Squash Ireland on the Howth Road is pretty reasonable - or was the last time I was there which is a few years ago.

They closed a few years ago.
Try Leinster , its at the cricket ground in Rathmines. Only 2 courts and not easy getting to play at peak times.

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced place to play on a Saturday (in Dublin, one of us lives in Portmarnock and the other in Stepaside, both have cars)? Can you play in places like UCD and DCU (I've heard you can)?

    Cheers.

You can definitely play in UCD, its €6 for a 40 min session (€2 is you are a student) We have four courts (1 glass back, 3 regular). Its generally easy enough to get a court during the week but i'd imagine the weekends may be busier. Anyway good luck in finding a place.

The squash ireland place is open on the howth road, under another name, Pheonix club I think its called. About 100 yards past Harry Byrnes pub on the way to town, with 7 courts including a perspex one, it costs 4 euro each an hour.

    Pheonix Squash club 01-8530156.
If you've not played there before, they will ask you for a once-off 20 euro admin fee fyi. Courts are normally available on the half hour ... ie 5:30, 6:30 etc for an hour ...
