Laptop keyboard issue = instead of \

    Hi,
    I just got a new sony vaio laptop and it seems to be working fine.
    However, when i try to type in the \ symbol, it displays = and when i
    try to type in | it displays +. I have tried to change all the
    keyboards language defaults etc, but to no avail.

    All the other keys work fine.

    Can anyone help?

    either you have it set to the wrong keyboard layout, or if it has a fn lock on it this could be on...

    (just checking ..) are all of the letters showing up as UPPERCASE?
    Do any numbers appear when you type a letter?
    How many L.E.D. are lit above the keyboard? (And please state the model of the laptop)

    Make sure Fn/Num Lock are off.
