How to bridge - Linksys WRT54G Wireless Router can't connect to esat bt modem

Want to know how to bridge router to modem.

Have set up wireless router and it is connecting to the wan but not to the net. The connection lights on the router are on as well as the modem lights. The modem works fine when I connect it directly to the laptop via an ethernet cable. But when I try and connect the modem via the router I can't access the internet.

I set up the configuration settings on the router, it is using PPPoE. When I try and check the status of the router it is set to 'disconnect'. When I try and connect the message 'Cannot find IP address of PPPoE server'. I checked the configuration settings onf the modem and they also use PPPoE

I don't know anything about the bt modem, but only one of your boxes can handle the PPPoE connection. If the modem is in bridge mode, that means it knows nothing about PPPoE - it passes that through to the router for processing.

What's the make/model of the modem anyway?

The modem is a zyxel prestige 660

    Access the P660 Site Map.
    192.168.1.1

    Login accordingly!

    Click Wizard Setup.
On the first page it says MODE = "Routing"
    Change this to "Bridged".
Save it and then connect it back to the wireless.

    Sorted!

I have the same problem as the OP but sadly I am not Sorted.

DSL modem from BT (zyxel prestige 660) is set as Bridge.
Linksys WRT54G wireless router can be seen by laptop using the laptops internal wireless card however I cannot get to the interenet.
I have changed the IP of the WRT54G to 192.168.1.2 beacuse it's default 192.186.1.1 is the same as the zyxel prestige.
on the WRT54G I have set PPPoE as the Internet Connection Type and entered the user name and passwowrd as per my BT deatils.
Made no other changes and still nothing.
What should me DHCP settings be ?.
I do not have a static IP address.
    Am I missing anything ?
