After reading the lost data stories, Im curious as to what progs or utilities everybody uses to backup their data?

Its easy for me, mydocuments still fits on a DVD, but how do you backup 100G???

Unfortunately, I don't back up anything! Though I should perhaps start backing up.

The only thing I backup is important documents, everything else I can replace. To back up I sync between office server, home PC and office laptop. So not only do I have different machine backup but also different location backup.

Same unfortunately and I've suffered more then once over it. The last while I've just been burning everything thats actually of valuable to either DVD or CD as soon as I get them, rather then have to sit down some day and spend all day burning 100gigs :)

The stuff that is extremely valuable like college
projects, certin numbers and settings I usually
    put into a winrar archive.

As it would only be ~50 megs I put it onto
another hardrive and then also upload it
    to streamload.com from college.

Backed up about 1/3 of my music there one
day. Got up in the morning and was burning
DVD's solid till about 8 that evening.
That will keep me going till HD-DVD comes
    out.

The attitude to have is that your data could
be lost at any time, so its always best to have
2 copies. Especially with pictures which cannot
    be replaced!

In this day and age there is very little excuse not to have at least your personal data, Docs, emails etc backed up.

Pen drives are now very affordable and Microsoft have a lovely little app called SyncToy
that will keep your key drive synced with your data very easily.

    Just my little input.

    Cal.

I bought an external drive case for €80 and put an old 6Gig HDD into it. I transfer all my personal files, music vids etc to it as well as recently downloaded software and windows updates. So when the inevitable (my HDD died ) happens I just restored all my files. Handy kit. The only problem is that it is USB so it takes aaaaaaaaages to restore everything.

I store all my stuff on an old PC that I use as my server. I back up this drive to a SuperDLT 320.
Remeber kids, to also have an "offsite" backup

have everything of importance on my D drive which is backed up in different ways.

mp3's are on my iriver (just a matter of copying and pasting back not like ipod)
pictures and other stuff are on dvd's

this is until my 100gig external harddrive comes.
