Should be as simple as plugging in the ethernet cable to the ethernet port on the laptop :)

You wont be able to use wireless unless you have a wireless router :)

Make sure that when connected to broadband that "never dial a connection" is selected in Internet Options which is in the control panel.

Also make sure that it isnt assigning itself an IP address (shouldnt happen with a new laptop)

    Hi all,
When I plug in the cable nothing happens at all..... Can't even get to the stage of "never dial a connection " or an IP address....Any thoughts??

Plug it into the power supply, the ethernet port is disabled to save power when on battery as default.

Ok Fabritzo - done that and it is now picking it up ( feel like a right knob! ). Anyway, when I check it in network connections it is now telling me " limited or no connectivity Broadcom 440 x10/100 integrated controller".. Isn't pulling anything up for me - where should I go from here??

Ah its ok folks!! Got it going!!! Yeehaa!!! Thanks for all the help.
