Rap Ireland play host to G-Unit and Bigg Steele

Rap Ireland just completed a busy month of live shows in Dublin City, including MOP, DJ Whoo Kid, Bigg Steele and DJ Coke-e. The Official Afterparties of the Anger Management European Tour took place over 2 nights with Whoo Kid and MOP ripping up the venues with G-Unit’s presence heavily felt in the building.

Just one week later LA’s finest, Bigg Steele, arrived on Ireland’s shores as part of his European tour. On two separate occasions Steele rocked Dublin’s Club Mischief, with support from none other than DJ Coke-e of California’s Power 106.

While it has been a hectic few weeks, Kev Storrs of Rap Ireland believes the best is yet to come:

“These shows were all about the preparation. The shows helped us to sell the magazine nationwide and build our name to a more mainstream crowd. We now have a firm basis to work from. November will bring out the best in Rap Ireland. We have Tim Dogg organising a follow-up to the hugely successful ‘Streetball’ tournament that took place over the summer. We are unveiling our new Hip-Hop signings at a fantastic gig towards the end of November. Our resident DJ’s Frank Jez and Steve O will be exposing their talents outside of Dublin, and most important of all our brand new issue will be released!”

With new designers and top-class interviews with the likes of MOP, Olivia, Mario Winans, Baby Blue and SAS to name but a few, the new magazine looks to be the best yet. With Easons Wholesale supplying the magazine nationwide and sales close to 90% on the last issue it seems the magazine will go from strength to strength.

“All we need now is the corporate support. The Hip-Hop community have supported this movement for the guts of a year and only now are the bigger businesses beginning to sit up and take note. It’s time that Corporate Ireland, and Corporate Europe and USA begin to realise Irish Hip-Hop cannot be oppressed any longer. It’s time for change and that change has already begun”

The official launch date has been put back to January to accomodate the numerous changes to the magazine. Apologies for any inconvenience. The Rap Ireland website will be launched as soon as hosting difficulties have been resolved and you will be able to get all the latest information from there.
    Thanks
