Got the quad from this lad Eaby dude with all the additional cabling , will be installing myself on sat.

Now is it as simple as unscrew other one remove dish attach this one and reattach dish?

If i kill Sky i die simple as that hence the worriedness :D

To be honest after replacing an ordinary Sky LNB with a quad I have always had to re-align the dish for optimum reception. You may be lucky but with the added weight of the LNB and the extra pressure of more cables which tends to bend dish slightly movement can be expected.

we have a skywares lnb on our dish and it didnt move at all, but i did have to realign the dish 14 months later.

No worries for me here ... put a quad LNB on my dish about 2 years ago and not had to do any realignment ... i would suggest to just put the LNB on and see what happens... if you lose sky then just put the old LNB back and arrange for someone to install the quad lnb and realign the dish (asuming you don't want to do this yourself)

Installed today pretty much lost the signal for both boxes, realigned the dish (ie stood on wall with both tvs facing out window and shouted to mate LEFT RIGHT UP etc: ) got a better signal strenght than ever before.

But the box i put upstairs had an old Sky card in it about 3 years old, and it has the UK epg on it minus pay channels 101 bbc 1 etc: no 104 or 105 but the rest are there.

Kinda odd but until new card arrives its great :D
