Form A New Band

If you are currently bandless, or bored with the direction your band is taking, or stuck in a dead end band, or the rest of your band are not committed to the band, or your cousin's mate's dog thinks you should be in a new band, then this post is for you!

Basically, my situation fits all of the above. I want to form a band with people who must be creative and able to write good music, it doesnt even matter if you cant read music, so long as you can feel and play music.

A serious band must be formed, with members who are not afraid to step out and be different. Put on a good show, and entertain an audience.

I'm not too worried as to what your musical preferences are, because a mixture might be good. Variety of instruments is also a good idea, so saxophonists, trumpeteers and harpsichord fondlers fear not and please reply. Originality is so rare.

If you are interested, reply to the post or PM me the following details.

    Instrument
    Experience
Biggest reason to be in a band

Any other additional info is welcome too.

Come on people, WE HAVE NOTHING TO LOOSE!!!

    Originality is so rare.

originality is near impossible these days.
influences?what you listen to on the bus?gigs youve been to?
im getting tired of these "dont matter what youre influences are"..
metallers dont wana jam with paddy caseys.
    good luck.

i agree. you cant be too vague about it.

You probably have an idea of what yr after. If you dont then forget it.

a lets all get together and see what happens band never works. its a waste of time.

every band needs a leader or at least some direction.

moonboy has a point about the metallers and paddy caseys, but i suppose they wont want to reply to a genre swaying band.

macattack has been around so maybe he knows more about this than me.

The band will be loosely based around alternative rock, possibly with a brass section if i can get one. If all members can add to the creative side then that is great. Commitment is the key here. I dont want time wasters.

Myself and kid brother (one of the best young drummers in Ireland) need to be in a new band. Sick of being in rubbish pub cover bands.

I play bass (all styles) and guitar. So i'm interested if something's being set up. Got a fair bit of gear too.

    couple of questions:

    1: how old are you

2: can you sing. Need a good vocalist or it won't be a good band.

    The story so far!

I have had alot of guitarists reply, a couple of bassists and one drummer. I have had one person who is interested in singing reply.

Are there any other singers and drummers out there who want to play in a band that want to sound alternative to the alternative i.e. different but not annoyingly crazy??

Are you looking for a briljant and goodlooking female singer, like myself? ;) I'm interested!
I would sing anything, and I like the style you're describing.
