I currenlty finished 2 years in college studing IT and have just applied for my first job and have a interview. The job is working with a Irish ISP just to gain some experience.

I was thinking of applying for a Apprenticeship plumbing, but im not sure? I was just wondering if you would recommend it and what the exams where like.
I'm not afraid of hard work, but i think i would like, so im just looking for some good advice.

Basically you're making a guess on which will be better in the long run, say 4-20 years from now. No one can know that. However there is still a shortage of tradesmen, and they get paid well. (Once they've served their time). IT well its a mixed bag. But I won't say the prospects are as good unless you move into the business/management side of things fairly early.

    Thats my guessing anyway.

Why do you want to be a plumber? If its for the money forget it.

Yeh, the money is one part of it, the other is you can travel and work with a trade. I was thinking of doing a another computer in FAS but i dont know what would be the best.

I think now days you need to be earning about €30,000 - €35,000 to have a good life.

Any idea's on what computer course would be good for the future etc

    Learn Mandarin (Chinese) instead!

    Predicting IT is near impossible...
