    Hey Guys,

Phoned one of the Goons at Sky. I want to upgrade to Sky+.
I am surrently on the Sky World Package (64euro).
    I do not want multiroom.
I just want the Sky+ Box.
The Goon on the end of the line said that it would cost me 369.00euro!!!!
    Can this be right.
If I was a new f***ing customer it would cost me 69.00euro!!!!

So guys, is the Goon wrong??

I thought it would cost me 149.00euro!

    How much should it cost???

    Cheers guys.

jesus thats mad, thats what i payed back 2 yrs ago.
I was thinking the sky plus box was now 149 to existing customers.
looking at sky.com its 49 pounds for an existing installation, so if you convert that to euros

It's 69eur if you opt for Multiroom also (as existing customer). Otherwise, yes you pay full whack. :(

If you're a new customer, you can get Sky+ on its own for €69. Tis madness.

They are following the same business model as the mobile phone companies. Subsidise the box for new customers subject to a contract and then you are on your own after that. This is a problem with Sky trading in this country - they are unregulated in this country, make no contribution to the exchequer and can do what they like i.e increase prices on a whim.

You really have a problem with sky don't ya - maybe you should start your own satellite company and give us a bit of competition, or at least a bit of peace.

Yep, I sure do - it's an unregulated monopoly from the consumers point of view. Then again so are the catv/mmds operators but at least they are regulated and the consumer has some come back. Having said, Sky has given TV choice to many Irish subscribers and has given Irish broadcasters an opportunity to get onto an all Ireland and UK platform.

Brian we have been over this before, perhaps you can contact the revenue on my behalf and get back all the VAT I paid over the years which I collected from sky. What is your problem? You seem incapable of absorbing simple truths.
