Congrats to Doc and Tom and all the other boards lads who made it into the final to play for the MC ticket.

All that experience of playing freeroll tournaments with flat prize structures paid off for Des when he "cruised" into the final.

Good luck to all the Irish tomorrow and I hope one of ye can take that ticket.

ty man, i love ya baby!

although i don't do that much cruising anymore. cottaging maybe.....

man i am exhausted, folded ace after ace waiting for a moster hand that never came. meanwhile Tom Murphy was robbing my big blind every 2nd round!
    i'll get ya tomorrow spikey!

now all i have to do is beat Peter Roche and 30 other pretty good players....

What was funny was on my table the shortstack went all-in with only 17 of us left and got 2 callers. One of the guys bets the flop and the other folds 33. The bettor has nothing and the all-in guy wins the pot with A high. Cue lots of abuse and a few of us noticed Doc 2nd last. Was thinking it woulda been a sickener if you went out under those circumstances doc.

yeah i was watching, the level of stupidity can be transcendant sometimes.
and i was folding ace after ace at the time so i would have had to hunt him down and serve him up with a nice chianti.
    speaking of chianti....

whats ur screen name on allin musician?

You'd want to be careful Doc. You could have got in some trouble for telling them to check it down too! Well done to everyone and good luck tonight.

nope i was no competition last night.. hit two flops and had to fold them both!!

Holy ****, I just checked the results of that freeroll last nite. With 80 runners left I had 2100, miles below average of approx 3000 chips the blinds were 75/150. My NTL internet connection goes for some reason and I am locked out...going ballistic cause I was really enjoying it. I ended up finishing 22....6 off the final.....thats so odd.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,533 ✭✭✭ollyk1

What's your username RMcG - Windy something??

It was very funny because you won an all-in with 35 players left when you were down to a BB. Then you quadrupled up the next time you were down to a BB with about 30 players left and that kept you in the game until 22nd. I was waiting for you to log back in and get a ticket!!

Hahahahaha thats classic JackWild is my username....sh1t I should have tried logging back in, the net was back about an hour after and I just presumed that I would have got blinded away....oh well, who needs a $30,000 trip to monaco anyway.

How did I mix up JackWild and Windy??

The other thing I noticed about the site is that it doesn't automatically show when someone is away from the table. Therefore you sometimes got a walk in the BB if the SB was asleep.

I benefited from this myself thanks to el rifle not showing up last night. First off I got plenty of walks on my BB and then in the SB I got a regular gift from el rifle every two rounds or so because the button when I was the SB was a total rock and wouldn't even limp in to keep me honest. Plus you don't have to raise to kill an absent BB hand just limp in and its auto folded. I'm used to playing on pokerroom so I didn't know about this. (This is how I first noticed el rifle was away after the game had settled down a bit) I think it took my table another 30 minutes to realise el rifle was gone.

Its really nice having the button twice per round too!!

Still couldn't crack AA with QQ though :D

Yeah I noticed El Riflé was absent alright, he was probably fell asleep what with him being in Perth and all! I bombed out after about 15 minutes (The_8_5 on AIP) but had another one of my downliners who had registered then forgot and gone drinkin, so took his logon (John-e-chan) and got back in the game. Went out in 42nd after my stack had been decimated when I caught a certain Doc with his hand in the honey pot only to see him river his Ace then ran my ducks into said Doc's nines when shorty. Best of luck tonight Doc, take it down for the D4 massive :D

I managed to get 34th in the first one without showing up and then a guest star took over for me last night and was outdrawn repeatedly by the other (luckier) half of Antes Up. Ah well, I hope one of you wins the ticket. Good luck to all in the final.

My money is on KP or Dave to win the ticket.

Well done Doc, I was watching the game, Martin was playing it. You knock him out after he limped in UTG with 88. He was getting sh*t cards, but annoyed later that he did not raise. You had K3 off suit and the SB did not play. The flop was KK7 and you did the mandatory check following by Martins raise all in and the rest is history. I thought the 4th King on the river was a nice touch. There must have been no-one playing in the Fitz. Was Paddy Hicks really playing? Anyway the very best of luck tonight Doc, this might be the win to get you going again.

    cheers medears,

I don't have any illusions about my chances tonight, even with great cards I'm no better than 20-1.

But its exciting to think that, quite likely, one of the ten in the game who post here will be going to Monte Carlo in the spring. for free!

    c u later, d.

I was all over your star replacement (and only once got lucky but it was an easy get away for him). And like YOU'VE never outdrawn me out of a tournie....! :p

Last night I got off to a great start then AJ cracked my queens and I found myself with only 4k in chips after the break. I hung on and hung on, simply stealing the blinds every round or so. (Doc, all those times I moved in on you... i was like this: please don't call please don't call please don't call please don't call )
Delicately balancing the rate at which I stole versus maintaining a believeable table image. I got one pair of kings in the big blind on a barmy action table and everyone folded to me. Other then that I dont think I saw a group 1 or 2 hand for the last hour. That was one of the hardest tournies I've ever played.

when u were down to 4K (and i think it might have got as low as 2.5 at one stage) and I was on 17K I thought u were finished. I actually folded a decent hand the first time u did it but after that i was praying 'just give me a face card so i can call this monkey lover'.

I took kpnuts advice and sat out but especially after getting knocked out in 23rd the night before I woulda been sick to have been busted out on a stupid play on my part.
anyhow, u played ur socks off and good luck tonight man. I'm off for a drive to clear my head.

Wow, just wow. I do my usual trick of generating a lovely stack and blow it all on bloody AK. They were spades too the filthy bastards. Such a pretty hand. And such a pretty flop with the lack of flush/full house/straight danger and top pair, top kicker.

Still, I was kindof put on tilt by being moved from a table were I was dominating to a table were my 18k was third smallest stack.

Excuses, excuses, I just shouldn't have bet so much on what was just a pair at the end of the day. :v:

On the plus side it was a great tourny to be in. I managed to sell a few bluffs to players who I have incredible respect for (but which I won't name). I got some great cards and played them pretty good. But I don't think I'd be capable of beating the 32 finalists for the ticket. Not yet anyway ;)

Good luck to all the boards players. Personally I'd be afraid of wasp13.

Yes I got as low as 2.5k but I held my nerve (for once!). I simply had two moves, all in or fold and thankfully I never got called (that I remember). When the blinds went up to 500/1000 I had about 6 thousand and noone wanted a 6k hole in their stack and I went on the offensive hoovering up chips until suddenly you were the one in trouble and I was going to be mean and steal every one of your blinds but I decided I'd spent enough time in the frying pan to run the risk of returning to the fire!

That other table (the one with the very very short stack on it), I don't know what those monkeys thought they were doing. She's forced all in on the bb, and almost noone calls. Jesus, I'd have called and checked it down with ANYTHING. The whole table should have. Also from the sounds of the amount of action on it with one to go they didnt know much about final table play. Bluffing someone off a 0 side pot is madness.
