Ambitionz Az A Ridah - Tupac

People say he was average at lyricism. Both his lyricism and flow here are incredible.

I'm always changing my mind over things like ths. Right now I'm thinking "Just to get a rep" by Gangstar, and "They Reminice over You" (T.R.O.Y) by CL Smoothe & Pete Rock

ya me too, as you can probably guess from my previous thread. Cant make up my mind

that is a tough call. gotta say sound of the police deserves respect, but i'd have to make it between 3, The Roots "What they do", Pharoah Monche "Simon Says" and Mos Def f. Talib Kweli "Know that". Special Mention for "Lyrics" by A.L. on Lyricist Lounge volume 1!

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,460 ✭✭✭Orizio

Adrenaline by the Roots,Stillmatic by Nas,The Saga Remix by Cormega and Rather Unique by AZ also come into the equation.

Only god can judge me now is a much better example of his lyrics imo but people who say he wasnt a lyricist or couldnt flow are generally people who wont listen to him just because your average scumbag likes him.

Yes, I have the video (somewhere..) of them doing it live on MTV raps back when it was first released.

    Wicked- Ice Cube
Hand on the Pump- Cypress Hill (smartest sample ever)

Mad props to Spacecoyote for AL's "Lyrics"...what a tune!

I have that video too Rub it's The Creator/ TROY Medley.

Gangstarr's "Ex Girl To The Next Girl" listen to it now - still sounds frikkah-fresh!

"Where ever my Beemer goes, you know that I'm driving!"
Not putting it forward as the greatest song ever but still a banger!

White lines - Grand Master Flash and the Furious Five.

White Lines would definitely be one of my faves.

As far as old skool stuff goes, white lines is up there with the best of them.

Gotta give SLick Rick a mention too...check out "Indian Girl", one of the funniest Hip-hop songs round. (the Great Adventures of... is a great album, old skool story rap at its best)

Oh and Mos Def "Jam On It" on Underground Airplay Vol. 1
