Skype & Nokia Bluetooth Headset

    • OS version: Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
    • Skype Version: 1.4.0.84
    • Headset (The only one available to me): Nokia, HDW-3

Can anyone recommend a setup to get the bluetooth headset working with Skype? (Preferably for free/without additional commerical software, if possible.)

    So far:
    I've reverted to the WIDCOMM (1.4.2 (Build 10) ) driver/stack.
The result is limited success: Skype recognises the Bluetooth device for Audio In and Out (And rining).. but it's still not usable (No sound.)
My preference would be to get it working from here (i.e. Without the next step/using commerical software)

    Next,
    I installed SkypeHeadset
Happy days: it works with the echoTest123. However, the cost is €15 (+the cost of a new dongle as it's being set up for a family member).

[In saying that, I'm willing to go with the SkypeHeadset(S.H.) solution as I'd spend the money on a new headset anyway.. So if anyone uses S.H. - recommendations welcome. I'd just prefer a neater solution, as I'm expecting some difficulty explaining Skype alone..]

    Thanks in advance.

    I have those two:

rarely I get same problem as you.
in my case, solution is: while you are connected to computer, restart skype. And usually sound comes back.

Thanks for the reply talos. Does your headset state that it's Sky compatible? I've tried restarting Skype previously (I've tried anything I could thing of)- it's just not working. Do you have any additional software?

no it doesn't say that it's compatible with skype. And I don't have any additional software. :(
