    Hey guys and girls,

I'm having trouble connecting to C&C for online mulitplayer. (I admit this is my first attempt as setting up a game for online play) I can see games but when I try to join them I get a connection error.

I'm Eircom Broadband, which goes through the Netopia router (wireless) I do have McAfee AV. I've disabled the firewall and lowered / switched off the AV but now its even worse! I can't even login in!

    Help anyone?

The only thing that caues this is if you have
a serial number that someone else also has
or if you have a copied cd and u have someone else's
serial or if you used a serial gen and then it will not work online

    hope this helped

Had some similar issues awhile ago, but think it had to do with the ip address
and that there was two you could choose from in the Network Options thingy in Generals. Some pull down or something on the IP address..

Could be that there are 2 network devices on a PC, one has to be turned off, as someone said, you can no longer choose which one you want to use, and of course network devices have to be on the same subnet to talk to each other.

U can get online and into the lobbies?
But u cant connect to other players?
Well if this is the problem i had it b4 too.
I had eircom and had the same problem. That netopia router sucks!
even when it is setup right it doesnt work all the time, u still get problems connecting with it.
i had problems with bfme,zh,ccg.Dunno if its just RTS games this router dont like.

Any way u need to open the ports (tcp, udp ports) for the game to connect!
    There in the manual.
Or u can put ur comp ip in dmz in ur router setup wich bassically puts u comp outside the router protection so u dont have to open any ports.
Even after u do this it still wont work 100% of the time.

I solved the problem by buying a belkin router and bypassing the netopia ports and firewall and using the belkin built in firewall and gateway setup.
    Wich works alot better 100%.

hope this makes sense as i dont no much about comps lol :p
