"The City of New York Vs. Homer Simpson" was on today at 7.30 on Sky One - where Homer has to get his car back from parked at the WTC.
The bit where he has to run up the second tower to go to the bathroom... in the original, you see him run across... the sound of a lift as the camera pans up and then "ooaaaaaaohhhhhhh (goes on for a bit) yeah" for a good couple of seconds... but they sliced out most of it and just went straight to the scene of him in the bathroom going "ahh".
Took a lot of the comedy out of it tbh... why the heck did they edit it?? :(

Because it's one of the best episodes ever... I can't think of any other reason for them editing it. The only other time I remember Sky editing the Simpsons is in the U2 episode where The Edge and Larry Mullen call Adam Clayton a wanker. Also at the end where Mr. Burns calls Adam Clayton a wanker. I had seen the episode so many times on Sky that when I finally saw it on RTE the **** bit was a big suprise. Great suprise though.

so they took it out on the basis they felt it wrong to have the noise of someone delightedly relieving themselves while a cartoon image of the twin towers is shown..... meh.

yeah... first thing I noticed was what station it was on (sky logo)... I'd know RTE2 would never cut.
Like the ep with the Beer Baron that starts off with St Patricks Day (Homer vs. The Eighteenth Amendment ).
I'm pretty sure there's a scene showing a British pub being blown up at the start as Kent Brockman mentions the Irish are doing what they love doing (or something to that effect)... I've only ever seen it on NET2/RTE and never on Sky.
Was surprised to see this in the first place

Didn't they also cut out the bit where the two guys are slagging off each others towers?

I remember the day Princess Diana died Sky played the episode of the simpsons where Mr.Burns is trying to get Bobo back.
But at the end of the episode a member of the paparazzi takes a picture of him with a dummie in his mouth.
And he shouts "Damn you paparazzi" but they cut out him saying paparazzi.

They stick all the jerks in Tower 1. That's why it got hit first.
