Anybody familiar with Cisco equipment. Im looking into the Cisco 1811 router, which has dual wan ports. I want to hook up two broadband connections to it, both for failover and load balancing.

Anybody used this router before? Does it have all the standard features of a load balancer such as binding traffic to a specific interface e.g. smtp traffic to wan 1.

Yes. Load balancing needs to know which protocols to assign to which WAN.
There are also ways to assaign things like specific http requests to different sites on different WAN connections.

As Diabolus said. A route map will be able to seperate traffic based on the TCP port.

I have also done per packet load balancing on some of the larger Cisco kit. You might need to do a bit of hunting around on the Cisco site.
