Viewing an opponent's ITM% on Party

I was playing an STT on Party last night, and after one player took a bad beat they proceeded to berate the offender, laughing at their 2.5% in the money finishes in STT's. Other players then asked what their ITM% were and he told them, but wouldn't say where to find the info.

Was this a windup or does anyone know how to find it?

theres some software called pokerprophecy that goes through the party database pulling results of players. Its use is not allowed and if he was reported he would probably have his account cancelled immediately.

How and Why would Party allow access to their database?

It does not go through their database, it is collated by a group who just open every STT and monitor the results through a program such as pokertracker. There is a similar thing available for Pokerstars MTT's. If you use it while logged on to Party they will know and can close your account. It has happened to a member of boards already.

did not know that.... i cant believe that people actually monitor every single STT... crazy...

I did think it was a bit strange to be able to get at there data, but just didnt conceive of that scenario

If you get caught using Pokerprophecy while Party is open your account will get disabled. I think its some sort of data mining tool that scans the tables and downloads tournament histories to get ROI percentages on players, but I could be wrong. He could have been winding him up or he could have got the info from pokertracker if he's played with this player a lot.

EDIT or just read what Shortstack said. :)

I had PokerProphecy when it first came out , it was very helpful, I got rid of it though when Party closed down a few accounts of people using it, the guys that developed it warned everyone about its use, what people do now is to somehow have a "buffering" PC between the PC that has Party installed and the one that has PokerProphecy installed, not too sure how it works, but I certainly couldn't be bothered doing it, but AFAIK it is possible to still use it.

I haven't even opened it in months but I think you can access their database from the web if you're a member, I just tried it there now, but can't remember passwords etc. although I see they do PokerStars now too, have to see if I can find what e-mail etc. I used and if I'm still able to get access....

Assuming you have reliable data on a given players ITM %. Is this any sort of advantage to you. Ok, we know he's a winning player but, how does this help.
Possibly sounding dumb here but I don't see the benefit here, other than maybe our friend is to be handled with care which would be evident soon enough thru basic observation ?.

When I used it it actually did help alot, it was in my pre-PokerTracker days, but at the time, I could immediately see who were consistently good players and who weren't, also you can see how many tournaments he/she has played in i.e. a novice or seasoned player, then after a few orbits you could see their style and it just helped with the overall picture of the type of players you were up against....
