yup, exactly that easy. You of course need to log into an account with administrator privileges, but beyond that its childishly easy.

Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Create an Account

while this is being discussed, how can i share certain games (i.e. half life 2) over the entire user acc system without copying/pasting files to the "shared" folder?

So once i do this it will ask which account i want to use everytime i turn on the PC, and the new user account will have no stuff on the desktop etc, the main account has shortcuts to about 50 programs on the desktop  ????

even if such were in the shared folder, it would make no difference: it depends upon the game and its installer. Most often, the game will install for all accounts. The simplest answer is when you install, does it give the option "install for this account only" and/or "install for all accounts" etc. if not, assume that its installed for all (not always the case, but mainly).

    *NB
often you can just create a shortcut to the game anyway, for each account you want to have access to the game; dont expect this to work with the likes of half life though.

    Exactly.
