If you are a bill customer and are in line for an upgrade be it 'advantage' or 'bonus' check on www.o2.ie first before you upgrade. They have some great online offers. For example I got a Motorola V535, would cost 59 Euro in shop on my bonus upgrade, but got it for 29 Euro. They also threw in a bluetooth handsfree earpiece thingy for free.

Don't know how long it lasts though

That's cos it's an old enough phone which they're probably trying to get rid of.

Are they still doing the six month free rental offer with a monthly usage allowance? I haven't paid them a penny in 3 months :D

When did you get this sweet deal?! What tariff are you on?

It was about 3 months ago. If you upgraded, they were offering 6 months free line rental provided you signed up for another 12 month contract. The free months included a call package (O2 packages are a cash value rather than a number of minutes). The O2 shop were recommending everyone upgrade to the max call package (as it was free!) and downgrade in 6 months time.

Surely someone else got this great deal?

Edit: Just to show I'm not hallucinating, here's a link to another boards thread mentioning the deal. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=277629

I liked the look of the phone in the shop and was about to splash out 59 Euro for it but then saw it on an advert on O2.ie with free bluetooth handsfree. So I bought it.

If anyone is thinking of buying a phone from an O2 shop just make sure you look online first.

Maybe you'll save money, maybe not, no harm in looking
