A quiet enough table, but some very solid players(or so i used to think!). What do I do here? I flat called hagens 240 as I had him on 2 pair with the size of his bet. I figured he would put me on flush draw or Q and bet big on the turn to get rid of me... I also thought everyone else would fold to his bet and my call... how wrong was i!!! Was my fold correct in the end?

i recognise some of those names. I've got a feeling this wasn't ur uncle Dessie's 5 dollar stt.

Did that put you on tilt because i noticed you out 3rd :D
Yeah thats mad action so early though. I think Whiteskank only larks around in those 9seat stt's, ive seen him call all in's with top pair nothing kicker before. He's more of a high stakes heads up player. I know most of them as big tournament players except Donegan who moves between €25-€200 stt's.

Single Table tournaments are not the place to be making big folds. I dont think I would ever fold that.

Most of those players are good but not great.

nah i went out third from a bad run of cards.. and when i made a move with KJ I walked into AK!!!

I am still not sure if it is a fold or call..

I knew I had to avoid a club at the very least.. along with 3 or 6 O/C's to fill a better 2 pair, along with the chances of a better hand being out there I think this is a tough one to call...

Even with the hands out there I have a 51% chance of busting out..

Do you mean that that situation could be a fold because you will often be up against a set? Or because you are worried about busting out. You also have a 50% chance of quadrupling up.

Personally I am not going to fold here but only based on the knowledge I have of both hagen and whiteskank.

I would have been more worried about hagen than whiteskank, whiteskank is very loose and wild and as mentioned, will without hesitation stick his stack in with top pair and small pp's (pre-flop) based on the fact that you have the chance to quadrouple up early on I would be willing to take a chance that I could be up against a set.

You are rarely going to see a pot like this while holding a hand of that strength.

Both Hagen & whiteskank would put in a small raise to see where they stand with 66 and so I could safely rule that possibility out, which leaves us with QQ/88 which are highly unlikely.

Sorry, I clouded the issue in my last post with my afterthought.. I presumed I was behind in the hand and that was my main reason for folding.

IMO they all played this hand terribly, with the possible exception of Donegan as the short stack. After whiteskank re-raised I considered making a move, but as donegan moved in and hagen called, my hand looked weaker and weaker! Any one of them could have trips. Losing all your chips in an unraised pot with 2 pair is something I try to avoid! Unraised pots that turn into monsters in this fashion generally represent a hidden set.. I think you'll find yourself kicking the table more often than not with a call here... but luckily for whiteskank they all played equally as bad in this pot and his mediocre holding stood up!
Under-Raise rules are now in effect.
Probably a stupid question but what's "Under-Raise?"

An under raise is when a player raises less than the minimum as he is all in. When this happens afaik, remaining players can only call, not reraise on that round of betting.

I wouldnt put down whiteskank or donegan as bad players. Those guys know what they're doing and cash all the time in the $200 and $500 STTs.
