An introductory Escrima seminar will take place in the Coolmine Sports & Leisure Centre in Blanchardstown on Sunday the 4th of December.

Escrima is a weapons-based martial from the Philippines with the main training tools being single/double stick, knife, stick and knife, machetes and the staff to name a few. The concept of transition is highlighted so that when the student recognises the lines of attack and defence, they can make use of any weapon at hand such as a mobile phone and also learn effective self-defence against weapons.

The seminar will be taught by Sifu Stefan Weber who is the head instructor for Escrima in the IEWTO and will lead onto weekly Escrima classes in January 2006. While the main emphasis will be on teaching beginners Escrima to existing Wing Tsun students, all are welcome.

The seminar will cost €20 for four hours and is payable on the day. For further information please log onto www.wingtsun-escrima.ie. While this site is currently under construction we hope to have it finished in the near future to provide information for anyone interested in learning Wing Tsun Kung-Fu or Newman-Escrima in Dublin.

    Best regards,

    Michael O'Leary
