Is this telescope any good for VERY amateur?

    Hi Folks
    First post here!Herself just bought me this model telescope today from a shop,not the site here just has same model and specs.She paid 80 euro for it.
    Just want to know if its rubbish or will it be of use to a complete novice like me!!

    Very beginners, nice gesture, but not a great scope! It will magnify objects for you, but no better than a really nice pair of binoculars!

    Oh well will give it a bash anyway!

    With that telescope you will see the moons of Jupiter and the rings of Saturn :eek:

    And have a look out for Venus in the evening, you'll see the cresent shape of it get slimer but bigger over the next few weeks.

    You can see the moons of jupiter (well 4..) and the rings of saturn (well a small disk with a bar through it) with a pair of binoculars.
