I was wondering what kind of a job market is available for nutritionists in Ireland? The recent interest in healthy eating has probably encouraged more people to seek help from nutritionists and it is a career I would be interested in. I'm thinking of doing BSc Food Science at UCD. Does anyone have any advice on that course or any courses that would help me progress in my desired career. What is the average salary for a nutritionist?
    Thanks!

I thought food science and nutritionist courses were worlds apart? Just going from all the people who I knew doing food science in UCC over the years.

I know someone with a Phd in nutrition works in the blackrock clinic, works hard makes plenty.

Dunno about nutritionists, but the company I work for has big interests in the nutritionals area, and it is rapidly expanding that part of the company, and has recently bought over a couple of smaller players in the same business. Plenty of people with food science degrees working for them too :)

That sector seems to be having a bit of a boom at the moment.
