Brendan O'Hanlon (Guy with the Pin in his face) qualified for the european championships today at the Dublin Archers Shoot in DCU.

    Well done!

And there was a new junior record (120 arrows) shot as well. Darren Daly shot 1079, one half of which was a 545. Basically, enough to kick all our asses on Saturaday. Food for thought.

James Ryan and Nathan also broke the previous Junior record. They shot 1039 each.

Hey, records are there to be broken, I had a good spell at the top, I can live with that :)

(Who knows, if I find somewhere to shoot I might be up there again :P)

I was sure you needed 2*285 for the Euros... *shrugs*.. fair play to him and the junior lads, nice to know there's a bit of talent coming up through the ranks..

Keith Hanlon, Brendan and Eoghan O'Doneghue from Kerry are the top three at the moment. They can all easily put in 280-290s. They are all going over to Holland for an International Competition http://www.face2face-archery.org/ this month.

Will you be back soon Ewan??

Sweet, heard about the face2face tournament, looks like good fun... archery is very much in limbo at the moment, have bought and built a set of X7s, have not shot them as yet. Have to acquire and setup the X-Factor as yet as well. Yann is bringing up a small superbutt for me next week, so if I find an 18m stretch somewhere to put it, I shall resume shooting with gusto, I miss the hell out of it, it has to be said. If it comes to it, I'll pull a Justin Huish on it and shoot through my house :)

I'm pretty sure you "only" need to get 560 twice to qualify. Obviously Keith Hanlon has qualified, but I think Brendan is only the second person to do so.

Niamh Bhreathnach shot very well on Saturday too. She broke the 500 with the barebow. Can't recall that being done before in an IV. I think she got 509.

The offer of an intro to the Flybow guys stands.

Mind you, Yann knows them too, so you could leave it to him.
