Ok, i'm ready to order my guitar body from warmoth,, i'm just wondering if there are any cheaper options.. I would order from stewmac, but they don't really have as many options with regard to pickup routing etc, but their shipping is soo cheap:(

So here is my order form, in total incl shipping it comes to $325.69, this is JUST for the body and bridge, no finish etc, just the odd extras such as contoured heal etc...

So is it worth it, or can i get it somewhere else cheaper?

being honest i wouldn go for that body over some of the beuts they have in that shop

They do have some nice stuff alright.. But that was my favourite, that and the natural finish maple top one, but the ash back of that guitar kinda sucked!!

Others that i liked probably just didn't have the pick up configuration i wanted..

the maple quilt is unreal. I am thinking of building my own dream strat soon but have so much stuff i need to get first!

What does shipping to Ireland run to (and for which carrier) from that eBay shop. Some savage bodies for sure.

$23 shippin by USPS... compared to $69 to ship from warmoth:rolleyes:

Warmoth obviously insist on using USPS EMS or some courier service.

yeah but it would be nice if they offered that service as an option instead of giving you that as the only option, if i had to choose between paying less and waiting longer or just paying more than i want to then i'll choose the first option

Kisekae. Fantastic website. A humbucker in the neck would look quite spiffing too.

    quite... chap...

It shall probably take a while to finish, this is all i'm spending this month, i shall get the neck next month and some more hardware, and leave the pickups till last..

I have to say the flamed maple body is very likable. I have to admit that the two threads about building your own guitars has givin me a bout of GAS to go and do the same. I just know I'd never finish it without it costing me more than a new SRV Strat!!

Dam this site is bad for you. It just has to be.

Except for the veneer/finish on the headstock, presumably? Unless you send the body somewhere you'll never get it to match.
