Word Problem

    Well its more of an annoyance than anything else. I was writing something there and trying to do a table of contents and then this thing happened where every space is replaced with a symbol (see attached). This has happened before, about a year ago, and I got rid of it then but just cant rememeber how. Im sure someone else out there has seen this before, it doesn't appear on the print out but just during typing its annoying having to look at it. Any help is appreciated, sorry for posting a non technical question in this thread but I see a software thread.

    view -> show paragraph marks
    handy tool, doesn't come out on print
