Viking Direct send me so many of their sale catalogues every month, with a different free gift on every one, that I thoght'd I'd post the codes incase anybody wants to use them - and share any others they get - (I know the "Boss" chair has been posted about before, but this is a slightly different offer):

"Boss" Executive Leather Chair with free quality street - Q81-BOSS - €43.49
    Viking Free Gift Offer Codes:
    •Emergency Road Kit (orders over €35) YDN-PRROADKIT
    •“Superb" Backpack YD9-PRBACKPACK1
    •Coffee Set – YDN-PRCOFFEESET
    •Chocolate Pastilles - QDD-PRDROSTE

That's all I've got right now, but there's bound to be loads more out there

Is that Boss chair suitable for using at a computer desk, or is it just for behind an office desk?

It should be grand for both - once you take the arms off (you may not need to, but I'd imagine they'd be too high to get close to the desk) - I haven't bought one yet, but it seems like a great price and I'm seriously considering buying one, since it's cheaper than a "normal" computer desk-type chair.

the arms can't be taken off the boss chair as they are what hold the back of the chair to the actual seat. There is a thread somewhere round here about the boss chair. I bought it and tis great, am using it as a computer chair, it's a little bit high but have had no real problems with it, only banged my knees and cursed once

Mine became fairly noisy after a few days - may have to open the hydraulic parts and grease it up...

    FYI

I just tried these codes, they all work but you can only use 1 per order.

Cheers for the info. Just ordered me a comfy chair, box of quality street and a coffe flask to keep me warm these winter mornings!

Everytime I try that code, I end up with a price of €49.99

I just cut the arms with a hacksaw to get it to fit under computer desk

If it doesn't fit I'll just be sending it straight back to Viking under their 30 day no quibble returns policy - they don't even ask why you're sending it back. They even pay for the courrier.

I ordered one today using the Q81-BOSS code that I posted, charged as €43.49 + VAT with a free box of Quality Street...

Yeah, my order cost wasn't high enough me thinks. I've ordered them chocolate pastilles yolkies (which aren't too bad) the the Boss chair from the other thread, so I tried all the others.

Problem is you can only add on 1 free gift per order...thems the breaks

Or do as I do and just make a couple of orders, each worth about €60 (so you'll get free shipping) and get a free gift with each order. So 3 orders = 3 gifts. Bit stingy, but nyeh.

Anyone got any more of these. Need to buy some stuff from Viking so may as well get some goodies too.

Not a free gift, but you can get reduced prices for nearly everything by using the prefix YD9 instead of the standard one on the website (think it might be QD1 or something like that).

I love how the free item is always so completely unrelated to what you're buying.

Unless you use the drill to get at the inside of the Officejet if it breaks down.

Or snack on some tea and toast while archiving all your old files.

Thanks for that tip, Absolut — just saved myself €20! :)

I noticed that they've put the minimum order for free delivery up to €75? It was €60 in the Autmn 2006 catalogue...

Then again, that lists the 'Berlin' leather-faced chair @ €89.99, whereas it's only €59.99 online, and only €39.99 when you use the YD9- code!

    You're welcome Peckerhead.

I'm not sure if YD9 is always the cheapest prefix - generally all the sales catalogues use prefixes YD followed by 1 to 9, but I've seen some use N as well. Lately 9 has been the cheapest, but you can always try the others before you buy anything.

The free gifts (that the OP referred to) also change regularly, but it's harder to guess free gift codes. The original suggestion was a good one though - sign up for sale catalogues and post the relevant codes.

    That is quite amusing. :)
