iPOD Question

Got a new iPOD and was tryin to put my music collection on to it but it says that it cant convert my WMAs because they are protected, how do I unprotect them? Also the iTunes online music store isnt available in Ireland, where else can I download songs (preferably for free ;) ) Thanks.

www.allofmp3.com is cheap (couple of cent per song) and is also 100% legal (afaik, please correct me..).
