There are a number of ways of getting thrush, it can be sexually transmitted. However, it can also be developed because of too much yeast in the diet.
Also, strong antibiotics can cause it,
    It can be very itchy
I presume she is on medication?
To answer your question I doubt very much she will be interested in having sex till it’s gone and yes you can catch it from her, I would suggest you wait till the medication gets rid of it.

this is honestly turning me off her

if something as minor as this can turn you off her, I don't see you lasting very long in any relationship

Yes you are an awful spa if this turns you off her :). You are likely to be the reason for her getting it. Do you make her sleep in the wet spot?
Thrush is very easy to get rid of. You can get it, but not nearly so badly as a woman. You can get it in your mouth as well as on your privates.
Wearing nylon undies and being on the pill both are conducive to getting thrush, as well as lots of other things. Drinking cranberry juice helps to prevent it.
Incidentally, the doctor in DBS misdiagnoses it as genital warts, tells girls their bfs must have been cheating on them, and tells them to put acid up their pussy to get rid of it. Do not go to the doctors in DBS.

Would be more worrying if he was turned on by it :D

You can get it on your thigh as well from anti biotics. Its a rash thats easily gotten rid of.

If that acronym means what I think it means, you are probably being unfiar to (a) those doctors by not giving them a chance to rebutt your statement (b) their patients, if indeed there has been case of misdiagnosis.

in mitigation it is only because he didn't know what it was that has him getting perturbed. Perturbance (made up word) doesn't exactly lead to arousal.

Mate it's a just the over the top production of a naturally occuring product (ladies is it yeast or bacteria from the yeast?) due to any one of number of potential enviromental causes. Most women get it at some point every once in a while. She doesn't like it, you don't like it. It'll pass. So will time and she'll probably get it again. No worries :)

Victor, I felt the doctor was being unfair when he told my gf I'd cheated on her and given her an STD, and then tried get her to put acid up her genitals which would have burned and scarred her. I'm not too bothered how unfair I might sound tbh.

Uberwolf, I was trying to make the point there was nothing to worry about rather than insult him. Hence the smiley.

Ah, but he didn't tell the whole internet.

Ah, but do you not feel that such a person should not be in a position of responsibility, and particularly not a doctor, and deserves to be criticised a great deal more publically than i am doing here? It was an awfully upsetting occurence for us, and it was completely unnecessary for it to have happened at all. It was entirely the fault of this doctor for being incompetant and presumptious. Genital warts are not a trivial disease at all, and we were quite frightened by what she told us. Had we proceeded with the prescribed treatment, rather than sought a second opinion, my ex would have hurt herself quite badly and scarred herself in a most intimate manner. It was the same sort of acid that is used to treat verrucae, I believe. That would have been a permanent consequence. Had she taken the idea of me cheating on her seriously, and not dismissed it, it could have caused the end of our relationship, which would have been a permanent consequence, and certainly not a trivial one.
How can you possibly criticise me for being outraged at such incredibly irresponsible and arrogant behaviour from a person in a position of trust and esteem? You go dip your dickie into a cup of verruca acid a few times a day for a couple of weeks, and then try being dismissive about this. I'm rather irritated by your response Victor.

What I should have done at the time. Too long ago now however, and I no longer speak to the lady in question anyway.

Good lord. Seeeing as you have a nice info link above I have half-licence to tell you that your girlfriend also burps, farts, goes to the crapper and has both stomach and bowels that make noise on occasion.

You can catch it both with both oral, & sex, so untill it goes, no fun, or you'll get it as well.

My understanding of it is that the vagina…like most areas of the body are always covered in lots of different types of bacteria and what not. Think of them as little swamp lands with their own unique types of inhabitants/eco systems doing good for the most part and being all natural like.
Outside changes to that environment, in much the same way to say a swamp, will have a knock on effect on the eco system. And that kinda is where thrush comes in to play on your missus/the vaginga region. Thus the references to nylon underwear etc etc.

When I think of it that way, my penis recedes into my body...

Funny, that male attiude of "UGH!!! That's HORRIBLE!! I refuse to think about it, either in terms of my partner getting it, or ME getting it (what a thought!)" is the reason why men frequently re-infect their partners with thrush.

Here's a tip: if your missus is walking around with natural yoghurt in her loose cotton knickers and taking caniston tables, chances are you need to do something similar. Such solutions are a necessity, not a hobby, and if you consistently re-infect your partner she really won't appreciate it.

Something else - very strong asthma inhalers, especially the preventative steroid ones, can cause oral thrush in some people.

Hardly a male attitude. Females have been known to do exactly the same.

Maybe I just can't understand why anyone would walk around in that level of discomfort without doing something about it.

How many people endure toothache rather than visit the dentist?

There’s a lot of weirdoes out there - almost enough to drive a man to monogamy.

You can have sex, just put the ointment she gets on your willy. All you'll experience if you do get it is a slight itch under the foreskin, as yeast does not grow nearly as easily on penises as in vaginae :)

    men can get thrush
she might have it from many reasons being run down been on anti biotics
it should be treated and i wouldn't advise going down... you can get it in your mouth
