    For the Mod.
Not sure if this is acceptable for this part of Boards, apologies if not, <delete etc> but I think it could be of interest to alot of those who read here. This talk is open to the public but is not being advertised so many will not know about it. Its is being held by the ISSA and I think would be valuable to anyone looking to persue a Sec. Cert in coming year.
Security certifications are amongst the hottest qualifications in the IT
industry, with both a range of security certifications showing tremendous
growth in recent years. Certifications such as CISSP and CISA are now
common in security job specs, both in Ireland and internationally. Despite
this success and high profile, the range of certifications on offer can be
confusing and it can be difficult to decide which certification to pursue.

Fortunately help is at hand: next Monday the Irish chapters of ISSA and
ISACA will hold a seminar on security certifications. This event will
provide a valuable overview for anyone working in the security profession,
whether a technical professional or top-level security executive, with
presentations from knowledgeable, certified speakers from the two leading
organisations for Ireland's information security professionals.

The meeting will feature presentations on a wide range of security
certifications, ranging from entry-level to managerial. Certifications
covered will include Certified Information Security Manager, Certified
Information Systems Auditor, Certified Information Systems Security
Professional and Security+, as well as more specialised certifications.

The audience at this event will not just learn about the certifications on
offer, but can register interest in potential study groups to assist in
pursuing certification, and learn more about both organisations.

This is a public meeting in association with ISACA Ireland, which will
discuss a wide range of security certifications. We have been delighted
with the interest, both from within the chapter and from
non-members, and expect a very interesting meeting.

This meeting will begin at 18:00 on Monday in the Shelbourne Hotel, we
    hope you can attend.

    Again apologies in not acceptable.
