    Hey ya'll,
I've searched everywhere and im trying to get this (or something similiar):
    http://www.macsense.com.au/acard_bridge_smart.htm
For those to lazy :) to click on the link, its a IDE to SCSI adapter.
Looking to buy from ireland if possible or the UK (or even europe for that matter).
Anyone got any ideas of where i might get one?

Also do you think with this device that a 80 or 160 gb harddrive be connected to this to be used as a "scsi" hardrive?

for anyone who wants to know - we have a dictaphone system (prologue/guardian) which records phone calls. There is currently a 9GB scsi harddrive in it. Big SCSI harddrives look very expensive and the biggest I see is 146GB. I know there is probably some reason for all of this but I dont know anything about SCSI drives.

    Thanks for any help.

Make sure you loook up the old drives model number and find out which scsi interface it has. As there are a number of different SCSi types/connections.

Maplins or Peats may also do something similar, but I don't remember seeing them before.

If 146gb is too small. I'm curious as to what kinda drive you going to put in there? 300-400gb?

Pity you can't use one of these...

its not so much about small but its to do with working for a cheap ass company who in order to get something done it must be the cheapest possible way.
Now thats some harddrive alright!! Anyone want to sponsor me getting one for myself??! I will make good use of it - i promise! :D

that yoke doesn't work out that much cheaper, and IDE drives aren't as reliable as SCSI (yes I know many use the same mechanicals and I don't understand it either) does the dictaphone support other drivers or network or something ?

no any more for this company. didnt pay service contract or smtg. Was looking at prices for SCSI harddrives and for a 146gb it looked like about £270 sterling. maybe looking in the wrong place but that seems pricey. no too bothered about extra reliability for that extra cost but then again i could have been looking at prices in the wrong place.
