    I'm using bittornado,

I have port redirection setup on my router so all ports are forwarded correctly!

bittornado shows green light! but when I click advanced most of the peers are L instead of R and I download at like 3 kb/s! when my sharing ratio is over 1000! and I upload at 15 kb/s! my speeds are set correctly! and there is over 300kb of bandwidth available!

i just don't get it! what is wrong with it? can anyone please help!

It seems like you are doing everything OK if its showing a green light.

My only other suggestion is if you are using a firewall - zone alarm in particular. Is to open the ports on the firewall as well.

I was getting horrible dowload speeds but good upload speeds, till I port forwarded AND opened them in zonealarm. they have since gone up 500%

Also try bit-comet. I just downloaded it 2 days ago and it seems to work much better than bit-tornado. i'm not going back. And a much nicer interface,

What's the maximum upload speed of your internet connection?

Not to worry, the thread will be deleted with a "warez monkey" comment soon enough anyway.

It should make no difference as to whether the connection type is L or R, all that counts for is who made the connection, you or them.

It could well be that a lot of these people have their uploads throttled at a certain limit.

Tried that! I even turned off the firewall completely, no effect!

Thanks for the Bit-Comet, I'll give it a try!

    20kb/s

can it be cause by isp itself? cause my emule is really slow too! it never goes over 5 kb/s!

I had problems with azureus downloading slow, ports open didnt speed up with firewall of etc
So i completly uninstalled norton internet security and it worked fine after, now using zonealarm and no hasle.
Maybe worth a try uninstalling your firewall to see if it makes a difference, dont forget to (re)install your firewall again after.

If you're runnign them at the same time, then 15+5=maxed out upload.
Throttle bittorrent to 10kB/sec up and turn off the mule.
