    So it will :)

Thanks Capt'n for the alert. I got two the last time and they are super value for money. I'm only interested in the batteries really. Anybody want the chargers for cheap? ;)

Does the charger do AAA C or those small 9V?

Looky here so, unkel. OK, only 1700mAh, but... 4 for £3.48/€5-ish? (incl p&p).

And they do post to Ireland, I've bought off them before...

I would buy the charger off you. I need a recharger but for AAA batteries.

    Does this recharger do these?

    http://stores.ebay.co.uk/The-Battery-And-Fun-Shop

    £3.65 for 4xAA 2400mAh
I ordered a load of them off him, he charged me £4 postage. I searched the brand vapextech and a guy on a forum said they were fine. they are 1.25V, usually they are only 1.2V

€14 for a similar pack of 4 in peats

just wondering ...I emailed this guy on ebay and he said would only post to Northern Ireland, was this the case for you??

just while I think of it, I did a search on ebay for rechargeable C batteries and didnt some up with anything special (4.25 each!) so if anyone has a link for rechargeable C's would appreciate it!

I need 8 of them as for radio is work! Not cheap unless you hit the pound shop every few days at the moment

Probably a silly question. But are these Lidl batteries 1.5V. i bought the Remote Controlled car for €35 a while back and it needs 8 AA 1.5v batteries.

$20 for 8. says he will only post to US or Canada, email him and ask. most will send, I think they just don't want to deal with non-english speakers.
    I'd say postage would be 15, 20max

They would be 1.2V (or a small chance of being 1.25V)
usually it doesnt matter much, needing 8 of them is very odd and is a drop of 2.4V which is a lot. Is it 4 in the controller and 4 in the car? if so it would probably work fine

    They will do.

The voltage of a battery drops off as it discharges, from the attached you can see that the 1.2V NiCAD has a higher output voltage when 50% discharged than the alkaline batteries (Duracell) or Zinc batteries - even though they are supposed to be "1.5V"

    BTW: LeChance = Zinc Carbon
NiMH are very similar to NiCAD - but I couldn't find a chart with them all on it.

    http://homepages.which.net/~paul.hills/Batteries/BatteriesBody.html

It's an old table but 2.3Ah is the figure they have for Duracell type batteries !

    http://www.repairfaq.org/ELE/F_Batteries.html
Type Zinc Carbon Zinc Chloride Alkaline Magnesium	Ni-CAD
    AA 0.9 1.1 2.3 0.5

Another crap deal from Lidl. Was there this morning. The charger is only for AA batteries and includes 8.

A better deal is this one from Argos @ 32.99.

    http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=2501&productId=104625&clickfrom=name

It charges aa/aaa/c/d batteries and comes with 10batteries.
Price in UK is £24.99, which comes to 36.11euro @ http://www.xe.net/ucc/.

A similar charger to the Lidl one is 12.50euro is Argos, except it only comes with 4aa.

Wasn't expecting to find something cheaper here in a uk store.

Why do people shop in Lidl CrapStores©?

Isn't that what my first post said ? except that it also does AAA and can charge 8 batteries at a time.

I think you'll find that the Argos batteries are 1300mAh, the LIDL ones at 2000mAH have a higher capacity , check out the capacity on the C and D cells as these will probably be lower IIRC the LIDL C-Cells were 4000mAH last time.
Also the LIDL charger will run from a cigarette lighter socket in a car which can be handy.

Picked up my new batteries/charger yesterday, and I have to say it seems like a great deal. Batteries were bought for new digital camera and already seem to last far longer than the previous old set of batteries I was using which died if I looked at them for too long.

But hey, its Lidl, so ask me again this time next week and I may have turfed them out cause they're faulty or the charger blew up!

Samo, I emailed them (bargainbuys@tiscali.co.uk) off eBay but dealt with a girl called Elaine, and she agreed to send stuff at the same price as for the UK. And they do 'C' & 'D' size @ 99p + £2.49 for two — see here & here.

Turn on the Irish charm... ;)

P.S. Haven't time to find the link, but afaik Maplin are doing the same Argos €32.99 deal for €29.99. Not bad if you need a couple of 'C' size...

All this talk of breasts is making me, er, hungry! :D

C cells are the same length as AA's - if you could get a "sleeve" for them you could just pop them in. Maybe old hair curlers or thin plastic pipe ?
