Hi i was'nt sure where to put this but i hope its ok here.

Right im trying to find out a way to use MSN Messenger by bypassing the normal security features.
In my college there is the usual security, Novell etc which stops us from downloading and installing programs.

Last year i had MSN on my own personal network drive and the way i did it from what i can remember was by having messenger.exe and another file with the extension .dll

Now my I drive was wiped during the summer and for the life of me i cannot remember which of the files i actually had which enabled me to use messenger. If anyone knows what i am talking about would you be able to let me know what it is i need to do to be able to use it.

I know there is an alternative webmessenger but i need the normal one so i can send and receive files.

    Any help appreciated, cheers!

There is no web based ones you can send and recieve files with, even if there was one I'm sure it the send and reciving would be blocked.

If its a large file I would suggest getting a Gmail account and emailing the files back and forth.

Gmail would be perfect. I mean its almost as good as instant messaging. It updates really well. Its like being informed of a new message. For a while me and my mates were using gmail like that.
