Maybe I was the only person on the planet not aware of this but I was in Xtravision at lunch time and they had a great selection of Ex-rental DVDs for €15, fully guaranteed.

As far as I am aware Xtravision dont even hand out the cover when renting so everything is in top nick!!

Btw I got Shrek 2 and Faranheit 9/11!!

    get cdcheck for your pc
    http://www.elpros.si/CDCheck/download.php
just run them through it as soon as you get them home
takes about ten minutes and will report any damage on the disc

...btw ive been using xtra vsion regularly for years and never got an overly scratched , ie unplayable, bad disc

    thats just my experince tho

is that €15 per dvd cos if so it isn't much of a bargain when you consider the prices on cdwow and dvd soon are only 1 or 2 euro more for the new dvd

it was more for people who have cash in their pockets and want to actually buy something.. rather than comparing this deal to CDWOW and the likes.. I would be more inclined to compare it to HMV and the likes..

so it depends on how you look at it!!

i've bought alot of ex rentals from Xtravision in galway never had any problems with them skips or anything. (i must be just lucky :P)

Just hang onto the receipt and it's no problem to bring it back if it is damaged.
Normally they won't be because they go ex rental when they are not being rented that much anymore, so you could be lucky and get one that has only been rented, say less than 10 times.
I find most people who bring back and dvd's saying they don't work, are the same people. Conclusion? Crappy dvd player.
Not saying that's everyone, before i get flamed to death. Some do go out in a bad condition.
