    Hi,

Has anyone had any experience with Cash & Carry Kitchens or the Panelling Centre? Just wondering what the quality of the cabinets is like and how prices compare to a regular Kitchen supplier!!

Cash and carry are the best no one comes close to them top off the pile

Recently got a kitchen fitted and having priced it at the panelling centre it worked out only 400 euro cheaper than getting a specialist kitchen company to manafacture, supply and fit a similar kitchen. I fitted the last kitchen myself and I can tell you that 400 euro is a small price to pay for somebody else doing the job.
I don't have any experience of C&C kitchens but for what it's worth I haven't heard any bad reports.
I suppose it depends on whether you want all the fancy gadgets that come with a new kitchen or just a practical one. But we are definetly a lot happier with getting the kitchen fitted as it was done in half the time that it would have taken me to do it on my own.

Heard one bad report, the missus friend had one delivered in the last week or so and had quite a few problems (wrong sized units, different layout to agreed etc). That is the first person I've heard off to have an issue though.

Anyone got any experience of B&Q? Or getting MFI down from the North?

If there isn't any great savings I will proabably go with a supplier who will fit it as I have little experience with that kind of thing. Will want the kitchen to last a long time so quality is also very important. Thanks Guys

    Hi Woby
i got mine at the panelling centre - they are dear but a friend works there so got a discount. They sell everything separate so you can get as little or as much of your kitchen as you like from them. They have an excellent inner thing for corner units that springs out when you open the door, wish I'g gotten it myself. Also cool is built in ironing board.

I bought a kitchen in Ikea in Glasgow last January. It worked out half the price of C&C, without the transport costs. The designers at Ikea were better than any we had encountered here, and helped up suit the non-square walls of the kitchen. The kitchen has beech worktops, and a white porcelain sink, which were not included in the quote from C+C. It was very easy to install, all very standard.

I would highly recommend it, even with the hassle of going to Glasgow.

Ive fitted a B&Q kitchen and it turned out excellent, a good budget kitchen, they fit them too but im not too sure what the cost is!

C&C units as far as I know are assembled, but to be honest it didnt take me too long to assemble B&Q flatpacks :)

We were looking at there, but tbh they don't do some of the stuff we wanted - eg Corner Units for eye level cooker. Going to go to C&C this week to see what they can do...

As for B&Q Swords branch is a disaster. Ordered and paid for kitchen in February, 2009. Was fitted eventually May. Installation guys were great. But Swords branch from start were awful. The guy who "designed" it put in a corner, turntable thing in design but kitchen was skeleton kitchen and would never take that unit. Didn't include handles in pricing, even though we picked them out in front of him. When we went to get them, they didn't have them and wouldn't have taken anything off the price or given them to us for free, even though we had ordered them and it was their fault they didn't cost for them. Had a load of stuff to send back to them, extra boards and stuff, for which we were due refund. Didn't tell us when ordering that there was a free cooker and hob included so we paid for both. Then two cookers and two hobs arrived, again due a refund for the ones we bought. Cash sat in B&Q in an envelope without anyone telling us it was there. When we went down to collect cash they had left us short by about €200. Had to go back to the installations/HQ to debate that one and to have them collect unit that didn't fit. Guys there were great. Especially John McKee, a great guy. He got us proper refund for unit and what Swords had left us short!
B&Q Tallaght and Blanchardstown are apparently not like that, but I have no experience of them. My experience with Swords was a disaster and I would never buy so much as a nail from them ever again! Even bought handles for the cupboards in Atlantic after B&Q were so unreasonable about yet another of their mistakes. So, a warning. Stay away from B&Q Swords!

My sister and i both got our first kitchen in cash and carry. They did exactly what they said on the tin as regards plans etc. Provided good ideas etc esp dave in blanchardstown.

2 Minor problems we had. 1) One of the units were delivered very badly marked and they were hard to get to change it, then would not deliver it. The fitter Ken Murry was sound he came back and refit the unit. 2) My sister ordered extra peices later and found that because they were add ons that she was ripped off, in her opinion

But as for quality of the units and doors, Perfect! have not seen a better standard for the price. Seen simular standards for the dearer price

A word of caution... Stay away from A Woodcraft Kitchens in Navan also called Woodcraft kitchens. My kitchen is a good reference for the reasons why

A mate of mine is a bespoke kitchen manufacturer, top of the line stuff, and he rates the quality of C&C stuff as excellent, not just cheap, but cheap and very well made. I bought wardrobes for a 5 bed house from C&C and was very impressed.
