Anyone know of any cheap hotels in Goa, India?

In India right now working, heading to Goa for a weekend, but finding it hard to get any kind of hotel there, as there are festivals and stuff going on...so if any one has any tips, SHOUT!!!!

    Cheaper the better!!!!

Check out the http://www.indiamike.com/ forum. There are loads of suggestions in the GOA section.

I'm thinking of going to India in the new year. Any recommendations where to visit?

    Cheers.

    Cool, thanks for the link.

I'm in Bangalore right now on business. It's a nice place, very green, nickname's "the garden city" and you can see why straight away. Haven't really seen much, due to work, but there are plenty of things to see, from what the guidebooks say!!!

Can't really recommend much, as I haven't had the chance to travel about, and probably won't except for a couple of days in Goa.

It doesn't get too cold here (Bangalore) in winter, actually right now it's in the low 20sC but I hear it can get down to 8C in December. But in the north it can get quite cold, i.e. below freezing, in places like Delhi, and other northern areas, you say your're thinking of heading in the new year, just bear that in mind.

As India is such a big place, and getting around can take a long time, unless you're flying. So if you plan on seeing the entire country, give yourself several weeks if not months...
