Dialling a modem (fixed line) from a mobile problems

    Hi,
    I have my mobile (o2) hooked up to make data calls from my PC to various modems around Ireland. There is one modem (US Robotics I think in a Quasar unit) which is causing me hassle.

    I'm using 9.6 Non Transparent (at+cbst=7,0,1).

    The call connects and from an ss7 trace it is answered. I should then receive a HS1 (handshake) back from the modem. However I'm getting +++ back. This is an escape sequence back to the mobile and so the mobile hangs up.

    Anyone in the know on these things?

    at+cbst=7,0,1
    OK
    atdl
    CONNECT 9600/RLP
    +++
    NO CARRIER
    Timed out after 40 seconds
