Just wondering if any you guys can help me. In college at moment and would like to play online poker on laptop although we are blocked by a firewall, however I have this thing called Hopster which means I can bypass the firewall. My problem is that I cant connect to any poker rooms once I download them, and I need a way of changing the proxy settings to bypass this firewall and cant do this without being connected on any of the sites I have tried. My question is whether or not there is a site which will allow me change the settings without connecting first? Any ideas would be very helpful
    Cheers
    Will

As far as I know www.pokerromm.com allows you to play without downloading s/w so this might bypass your firewall without the need for Hopster

Your best bet is to get a program like RealVNC and connect to your home pc through your laptop in college. With 100mb+ fibre connections in colleges, you should have no problem with latency unless the network is congested with traffic (but that's why colleges spend thousands on Cisco load balancing routers).

Alternatively, you could try using Ladbrokes web-based Java poker. I would be surprised if it worked on a college PC as they usually have strict restrictions on what programmes can be run, but you may just be able to get it to work on your laptop.

If you need any other help, I suppose the Comp/Tech forum would be able to offer more assistance, or you could PM me if you're really stuck :D
