Does anyone know how I can recover them, it said I had a problem with a profile and now since I loaded it back up I've lost all my previous emails on it.

    LOL@Muppet.

Ok, I use mozilla for email and it's stored in this folder:

    C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\Default User\<random_profile_dir>\ImapMail\<servername>\

Have a search through the application data\mozilla\ directory and you should be able to retrieve it.

    You're looking for *.msf files.

    Best of luck.

I know your style well enough at this stage to know that ;)

Most people probably don't though. :)

There is yeah.....This is only a suggestion, and before anything goes wrong, back EVERYTHING up. Just copy / paste them to a different directory for backup.

You should have two mozilla profile folders:
    Folder 1:
    C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\Default User\<random_profile_dir1>\
    and Folder 2:
    C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\Default User\<random_profile_dir2>\

    (or something similar)

Where <random_profile_dir1> contains your old .msf files and <random_profile_dir2> is the new profile directory.

Copy all the files from <random_profile_dir1> into <random_profile_dir2> (overwriting them).

This is a bit of an ugly fix, but it should work (I've done this before when my work profile got corrupted). Again, can't stress enough the importance of backing up both folders before you do anything.

Best of luck. Let us know how you get on.

Try the mozilla forums (on mozilla.org). They're very helpful there. I'm surprised that didn't work. Like I said....it's worked for me in the past. You sure you were copying to the right directory?

Anyway....I can offer no more I'm afraid.
