cool, looks interesting and just in time for the film censorship season in the ifi, with screenings of many of the films that were censored. Kevin Rockett(the author of that book) is also giving a talk about about film censorship in ireland, again during that season in the ifi.

more info on the ifi screenings and interview can be found here: http://www.irishfilm.ie/cinema/season1.asp?SID=71

I'll admit that it looks pretty good. Don't think I could afford the HB price though - bit steep at €60.... PPB version is €30. If you get it anytime soon, let us know what ya think.

Got it yestesday via amazon.co.uk (cheaper than the publishers!)

Its nearly 500 pages of small type print which 100 is appendix. Its set out over 8 chapters and Fr Teds "down with this sort of thing" episode is mentioned in the intro! :D

Anyone expecting nice readable lists of films that got banned etc will be dissapointed, its fairly dense and looks to be as much about changing society as it is about film.

    Mike.
