Ok this is a stupid question but i just need some external judgement, i'm doing up a few different briefs for this topic using different events, would someone read what is below and tell meif you think the actaul kennedy presidency could be considered an 'event'. I was also drawing up a brief on vietnam war but is it a case that i'm going to have to choose two actaul events from either of these topis?

Title: 'Pick two historical events, one from the 20th and 21st centuries(the age of film,tv and digital media) and one from any era before 1896.'

Notes: Consider the events in the following terms:

    - In the case of the 20th and 21st century event, consider how your understanding of that even event would change if there was no radio, internet, film or television coverage of it.
    - In the case of the pre 1896 event consider how your understanding of this even would change if there was radio, internet, film or television coverage of it

Might I make a suggestion. Both John F kennedy and Abraham Lincoln were presidents of America when they were assinated. There was no TV Radio when Abraham Lincoln was assassinated (spelling) so you could use both murders (im giving up on spelling the A word) with regard to the availibility of modern communications technology.

    I hope this helps.

I've considered that and if i feel that the other comment about the two presidencys is not within the essay question i'll do it.

Well both presidents were (if i may be so bold) radical

John F kennedy was a catholic and was in favour of the rights of black people, and Abrahem Lincoln was in favour of black emansipation to the point where he was willing to fight a civil war. Their presidencies were quite similar.

ah now in fairness while abe was opposed personally to slavery he would of been fine with allowing it to continue to exist in the south and to eventually let it die out. He was more for preserving the general union then yay lets set the black man free. Anyhow i've decided i can argue the point that both presidencys were events in themselves, so yes! thank you my good sir

You could compare the two wars the two men led and how the media and rights effected both.

Or compare the "Great Game" in Afghanistan, 1813-1907 to the Islamic Jihad / "War on Terror" in Afghanisatn 1979-2004.

In both the examples given to you so far the events are the same. One with media...one without. President..assinations..war...

You will really just be turning one into the other via the inclusion/exclusion of media. Modern/not modern.

Try doing some thing like Jesus being cruicified in this modern time and Kennedy being assinated. Find some dude who was assinated back before media(caeser) and use that to write one.. and find some modern icon who was martyered and use that from this era to do Jesus.

I think that is kinda the remit of the eassy. The the events should differ.

    I think.
