nah, I dunno. does anyone know there are two bands called NIRVANA ? the origional one was some 60's or 70's hippy band I think. My friend's mam got him the cd cause she didn't think he had that Nirvana album. oh how we laughed.

Dundalk Leeway are great. definately worth checking out. will be a great gig

    Rock agus Roll

I have that Leeway album I was a fan, they were a 90's Metal band, not an English 60's psychedelic outfit. A name change is in order if you ever want to try and sell an album, have a demo reviewed or even gig in the states (unless you want to be called Leeway Ireland).

Nope been thru that whole proceedure we have no name changing to do. Its our name cause they other leeway are defunct

They still own the copyright to the name. If Campbells stopped making soup tomorrow they'd still have the right to use the name. It's up to yerselves, but it's a situation that is only going to get more complex as you move forward and will be much harder to sort out (build a reputation with a new name etc) in the future.

Doc, trust me, I've spoken with the lads from Leeway (at least the singer) a lot about this. Apparently, band names can't be registered in this country or something weird like that.

If you go, look at Leeway's singer's guitar. That's the LP I've spoken of repeatedly...

Over here it may not matter, but surely the lads intend on playing abroad and, with luck, in the states too, maybe sell the odd cd there? That's what I'm getting at. They won't be able to trade as Leeway in the states.

    Aye that's true.

I'm not sure if they want to play abroad though. From what I've read on their forum recently (that I was banned from :p), they have no interest in playing to be big.

Anyways, that's beside the point. They're a decent band, well worth the few euro to go and check out.

Meh, fair enough, just seems odd to choose to handicap any potential future progress when you're just getting started *shrugs*

Yeah. Well, that's their second name I think. They've been going about 3 years at the moment too so it'd be a bit annoying changing the name, website, etc. Ah ya know yourself.

Well feylya hows it goin? God dammit every bloody forum i find ur on it :p never said anything about not playing abroad man dont no where ya got that one from. If a problem occured with the name then we'd look into it. Infact only a couple of months ago we feared we would have to but thanks to a few good people who we now that work in a small part of the whole industry everything has come up squeaky clean. But yeah if interest came about from record companies from abroad (Iam Dreaming here) and they said change ur name well we dam well would but there is no point at the mo. But thanks for ur interest
