What TV provider to you have? ntl, Chorus, Sky or do you recieve it terrestrially?

No probs here on ntl analogue or digital.

NTL analogue - Glasnevin - C4 and E4 are unbearably fuzzy at times. Has been this way, on and off, for years though.

Same here C4 and E4 ( both rubbish anyway ) are very fuzzy in our household, NTL in Dublin 15. Must be something wrong with C4.

The problem is at least in Dublin, NTL analogue delivers Channel 4 at a VHF frequency below the FM band (i.e. < 87 MHz), so it is prone to being filtered out by equipment that assumes all TV channels are at > 108 MHz. It is also more prone to random interference.

NTL told me about six months ago that they are planning to move Channel 4 up to one of the higher frequencies soon (obviously not that soon though since it hasn't happened yet). This should help increase the quality of the picture.

Meanwhile, if you are using splitters etc. in your house, you could try temporarily connecting your TV directly to the main incoming NTL feed to see how much it improves it. If it's a big difference, then you probably need a new splitter or amplifier.

BBC2, C4 are always bad here on Chorus in Greystones. They broadcast them on frequencies 54 and 64 MHz. However I have noticed that when its lashing rain, the reception improves very noticeably.

The reason this is that the signal from Channel four allways comes in too strong!Thats the reason noone ever gets absolutely perfect reception on it!An extra signal booster will not help either, just make it worse in fact!

My reception on Channel 4 is very poor too. I am hoping to get a FTV card which may improve matters.

discovery is crap at times too.

The 3 worst by far are..

    discovery
    C4
    E4

in that order. I'm with NTL in Dublin

Those 3 are on a different band to the rest of the cable channels and are the most sensitive to any interference or flaws in the cable. A big improvement can usually be made by replacing cheap cables, crap connectors and particularly those Y splitters that most people use to connect up multiple TVs.

C4 has been fuzzy for me on NTL Analog for 18 years now. I have SKY anyway - BUT I only have NTL for C4 and ITV :(
