Which 17" TFT to get?

    Hi all,

    Upgrading my monitor. I want to get a 17" LCD monitor, mainly for gaming but also for photo work. Any recommendations?

    must admit very happy with the benq ... the samsung had 1 little dead pixel when it arrived ... and yes these are fairly cheap lcd's .. the benq is great for gaming and everything ..

    Thanks for your reply. If you had to choose between them, which one would you go for?

    Is the dead pixel a huge pain in the a$$ or do you get used to it fairly quickly (like the two stabilization wires on Trinitron monitors)?

    hmmm the benq's gonna be better for gaming ... its a 12 ms response time ... they've also just come out with a ... 8 ms ?? response time ... version ...
    8ms version .. about 450 EUR ...

    the benq includes speakers which I like ... sound isn't great out of them .. as in no bass but I tend to use headphones a lot so they are great for that. ..

    the dead pixel's ... kinda ****ing annoying ... I've got to admit ... but I watch movies on that monitor ... with no problem and don't notice the dead pixel ...

    if you're not on tight budget .. there are loads of other options ...
