    hey

my machine is running at an ok temp - the gfx card idles at around 55c and after a 2 hour half life 2 session it was around 70c ish which is normal enough across all games

my machine generally doesnt seem to get too hot but after playing half life 2 i noticed that it was roasting

the tower is kept in a cupboard and there isnt much airflow so i was thinking about trying to get a cooler for the entire system

whats the best way to go to cool it,manufacturer type etc?
i was looking at this http://www.thermaltake.com/accessories/dcfan/525drivebay/a1869.htm

    its €33 on komplett.ie

    think its worth it?
or can anyone recommend anything else

It might help some but unless you take the tower out of the cupboard probably not much.

I have never seend mine go above 55 playing Doom3 for 2 or 3 hours...

I understand that your system is different though. Thermaltake make good stuff so you are dead right looking at there stuff.

Water Cooling? it is worth your while?

i dunno water cooling just seems like a lot of hassle and i dont think ove the room to run it,thats the reason the machine is in the cupboard.the back of the cupboard it open to let some air in but i just dont think theres enough flowing in - thats why i was look at the system cooler - just give it some more air flow through the case

    Watercooling is fairly expensive anyway.
Looked into it on sites like maplin.
    Couple of hundred yoyos.
You should try to get some circulation going at the very least.
70c isn't too bad but if it starts going higher...........

Seems like a total waste of money, what would be better is taking it out of the cupboard!
As a matter of interest what cpu do you have?

another vote for getting it out of the cupboard. doesn't matter how many intakes and outtakes you have if there is no airflow around the case.

it's also important to have lots of space at the back of the case for the hot air to dissipate. otherwise the intake fans are just recirclating the hot air from the back of the cupboard.

have fun and prepare to spend more time playing around with your case than playing games
